This was an interesting read What drew my attention to this book was the cover honestly I m a big fan of Skulls and anything with a skull draws me in I really Can t explain it in details regarding this book unless u read it and that ur a fan of art and maybe of the macabre But for that there is not a lot a scary paining in it, for it posting about the history of Sir Thomas Browne and his Cabinet of Curiosities

After reading Preston and Child s Cabinet of Curiosities, I couldn t resist finding out about cabinets of curiosities the precursor to the modern museum This gorgeous, weird book is a history of the cabinets and their weird contents everything from sculpture, to shells and minerals, fake dragons and preserved baby heads.

A collection of Desmazieres etchings, with essays by Patrick Mauries on Thomas Browne, Borges, Sebald, and a brief history of the wunderkammer A lovely book to look at.
