180618 most short story or essay collections are of varying qualities i will not say all of these stories are excellent but none are less than very good satire, social, political, absurdities, whether expressed in the judicial cases brought in the first half or the short stories often ending in murder of various characters in the second half the author has a sharp ear for bureaucratese, for inherent comic tone, for telling the stories each in the right way, varying from deadpan to magical realism, only emphasizing the black humour in all these tales the author is Ethiopian, i had never heard of him before now must rec him to everyone

Divided into two sections The first section telling the about court room trials in post revolution Communist Ethiopia and the second section telling stories outside the court An insiders account of the grim realities in a land where the people who are Black don t consider themselves to be as black as the others and suffer from prejudices and an oppressive regime without having any power to revolt against it.
