This will sound obnoxious as fuck, but w.e I haz good brainz.Sometimes I really wish I didn t know anything. Most of the time I m grateful, you know, for knowing that rock stars detest travel staying in a different hotel every night can be painfully disassociative and psychologically exhausting most rock stars are for whatever reason very, very short and that there s no real money in pop music until you tour, which is hell, and takes two years if you re really popular, and usually doesn t leave you with 10 hours of your day free to wait for your hotel manager to join you in your richly appointed suite to play video games until he s drunk enough for you to seduce him, but not too drunk to sign a seventy page Non Disclosure Agreement that prohibits him from posting your dick pictures to reddit. But sometimes I wish I didn t know any of that at all, so I could just sit back and let the pretty people in the pretty story walk around being pretty and saying glamorous things at one another two minutes later Ooh, a Ramones tee Cool Read my status updates and comments for specific and topical criticism I realize this review is not helpful, but I don t have any calories to spare on it.To quote wise goodreads user Ann Marie What if I d died while reading this shitty book

For me, this story just felt unbelievable and not in the suspend reality and go with it sort of way Warning for spoilers First, I want to say that I think non com and questionable con can be sexy as hell But in this book, no one not the author, or Tyler, no one felt it was bad to act in this way The way this was handled by the author ended up ruining it for me This is the way I see this story Rockstar forces himself on a straight guy when he learns straight guy may be a bit curious and attracted to him This is greeted, after the rape, with acceptance from straight guy because he needed to see that he was gay When straight guy who is now not so straight gets his feelings hurt by the rockstar, he is forced to give in and fucked to make sure he doesnt forget he s gay Not so straight guy s father dies and rockstar shows up at the wake They find an empty office down the hall and decide sex and a shower is much important than a memorial service Not so straight guy then decides that because he is sexually attracted to the rockstar and they both like the same video game that they are in love THE END

1.5 starsI guess I m the only one from my flist who hates this story shrugs There is a reason why I m not really fond of GFY theme, when the story is like this one When is No means No in M M If it s a woman and she says No and the guy is pushing it, it becomes rape, right And here in this story, I clearly remember Tyler says No over and over again, and the cocky, arrogant, Johnny just pushes it Doesn t that border of rape And Luc pushing a sexual advance to make Tyler feels uncomfortable, isn t that bordering to sexual harrassment Sorry if I sound like I m preaching a moral issue Honestly, I can accept it if the story is about BDSM or D s theme because it is common that non consentual sex happens but this is NOT what I want to read in my ROMANCE Even for a GFY theme, I prefer both men come with understanding about what they re going to go through Here, I don t feel so Plus there is this one scene where Tyler is facing a tragedy in his family, and Johnny acts like a bastard.Am I supposed to believe that Johnny loves him, then Sorry, but no, I don t buy it I don t feel the love or the tenderness, in fact I feel sorry for Tyler because he just makes himself a walking mat for Johnny.Hopefully this is not what I will find for the rest of the Heaven Sent series I know that this is one of her earlier works it s released in 2006 and I do have experience loving her latest ones A Rose is a Rose and Squire , so I can hope that it will get better, right

Frankly, I m underwhelmed Is this what I can expect from the rest of the books by the infamous Jet Mykels The story was kind of bland Not necessarily a bad read, but an almost generic GFY story filled with stereotypes The Rockstar, the Responsible Insecure Boy, the Terminally Ill Family Member to increase the drama if needed And naturally sex being pretty much the answer to everything and it and video games being the basis for a solid love relationship I didn t like Johnnie for over half of the book He was very pushy to say the least I could understand Tyler s insecurities and reservations as he was physically and emotionally pressured by Johnnie mild spoiler view spoiler I wouldn t go as far as to call it rape I think the author meant for the reader to accept that Johnnie just knew Tyler needed an extra push but it didn t help in making Johnnie a lovable character, or making the plot believable hide spoiler

This being my first full length m m romantica I am glad I enjoyed so much The characters were well defined in thier attraction to each other The story was well written and paced so that you had time to take a liking to the development I learned that even m m romances can be just as sweet and complex or sizzling as any of the other romantica I have read I do plan to read from Jet Mykles Thanks Heather Update Upon reading the second time I know that the feelings evoked by the characters emotions were not because of something I was feeling that day I really felt the fragile indecision on Tyler s part about his growing feelings for Johnnie Heaven, the rockstar I like the character development, the love scenes are heaven, and the overall appeal of reading the story again had me smiling the whole time.

I opened this one up because I wanted a quick read It s not long What I didn t expect was a quick pant LOL Oh, my In Jet Mykles bio it states something about her ability to write sex Good god Not that the sex was overly descriptive or accurate or whatever to make me think Jet an expert on gay sex, it was the amount of lust she wrote into Johnnie that sucked me in Do I bother saying, no pun intended He was written as a walking predator His goal was to make Tyler beg, and I was all but right there begging beside him.Story on the whole good Short and with that feel of insta love The bond chemistry between them was believable Tyler s reluctance was well done I thought I guess what holds back a 5 star is the lack of a developed story beyond sex This was full of sex So, if you are not keen on stories like that, maybe you should shy away But, if you are looking to beg for of Jet Mykles characters, read on I thought it was tasty.

I read this for the first time in 2010, I was inspired by Lilli to reread and see how I see it now I reread the story of Tyler, the hotel manager of the Weiss and Johnnie Heaven, rock star extraordinaire.I remembered it as a favorite and that I enjoyed it immensely. Now after rereading it, I m reminded a bit of the young teen love you think is so wonderful and the best ever and as you get older you see that maybe you are glad it didn t work out after all I still enjoyed this story, but Tyler s no and Johnnie s ignoring it and Tyler letting him ignore it and actually seeking out ways to say no when he really just wants someone to make the decisions for him and take the responsibility for what they are doing. When I ignore that part of it, I still really like it, but..I have to ignore that to do it.

Latest reread 3 2018 still problematic as fuck, and I still don t care Just plain fun.You know those books that you read early on when your tastes change, and you love everything, but when you go back and read them later, they just don t stand up to your original impression Yeah, these aren t those books I first read these years ago, fairly early in my M M reading craze I loved them then, and I still love them today Sure, there s nothing particularly awesome about the writing or original to the plot, but all put together, they are just something special to me I love reading about this larger than life rock band, who s members are all apparently gay, or at least bi, and the fight to get the men they love.Realistic Hell no, but fun as hell, and that s all I really want

I was totally sucked into this series by Jet Mykles Johnnie and Tyler are likeable and the cast of supporting characters enhance the story rather than detract This is one of the few series of books that I have read than once I felt like I knew all of these men and their partners by the time I had read them alland I am looking forward to the next edition, even if it does look like it will be a menage for Gretchen I am happy to meet up again with Johnnie, Tyler, Luc, Reese, Brent, Hell, Darien and Chris for another glimpse into their lives.

Re read, still love it This and book 2 are my favourites of this series I really loved this one because it was a sexy and sweet intro I liked the characters and liked the introduction of the other ones who would get their own books Damn, I should ve written a review when I finished reading it, which was a long time ago I was lazy at writing reviews back then It doesn t matter anyway, because I gave it five stars so that s enough to tell you it s a good un.Genre M M.What s in it A smoldering rocker and a cute twink.
