I think it is only fair to list a few of the many reasons I hated this book most all have to do with Luc I did not care for Luc in the first Heaven book and in this one I hated him from the prologue on He never did anything to even remotely redeem himself for the way he treated Reese I am feeling lazy so I will just list the biggest reason why I hated Luc and this book view spoiler At the end when Luc asks Reese to quit his job and go with the band to Italy and Reese says no so Luc shows up in Reese s classroom and makes the most ridiculous even for fiction scene and outs him to the students and teachers resulting in Reese getting fired I hated how selfish and disrespectful Luc was to Reese Here and through the whole book but when he got Reese fired to try and force Reese into going with Luc by ruining Reese s income and forcing him to need Luc s financial support hide spoiler

You know those books that you read early on when your tastes change, and you love everything, but when you go back and read them later, they just don t stand up to your original impression Yeah, these aren t those books I first read these years ago, fairly early in my M M reading craze I loved them then, and I still love them today Sure, there s nothing particularly awesome about the writing or original to the plot, but all put together, they are just something special to me I love reading about this larger than life rock band, who s members are all apparently gay, or at least bi, and the fight to get the men they love.Realistic Hell no, but fun as hell, and that s all I really want

I read this one a while ago, and as with the first I have a fond memory of it, I didn t love the first one as much upon rereading, but I m hoping I will love this one just as much as I did the first time.I still love it, Reese has loved Luc for what seems like forever, but years ago when Reese had the courage to make a pass at Luc it ended badly, so badly that Reese turned from his art and his life as he had been leading it and is now just sort of existing. He teaches and dates girls, but it s not his passion. Now Luc is back in town and wants him back, but Reese isn t ready for that. Here is my issue, I know Reese thought he was doing the right thing, and as it ended up, Reese is a lot happier with his life after it is changed due to Luc s actions, but it is still VERY WRONG to do that to someone.I would have liked to see a little of Luc s suffering and wanted him to have to work a little harder to get Reese back, but it s still a fun, sexy read.

Like a good cup of coffee Jet Mykles books have a tendancy to keep you hot and up all night reading of course.Heaven Sent 2 features Reese and Luc, bass player in the band Heaven Sent I enjoyed the emotional play between Reese and Luc Reese at first going for the crush he had on Luc then later denying it to preserve outward apperance There is NO denying the thier physical realtionship burn the sheets but yet and still Reese does not feel he is worthy of Luc s affection, nor does he want to admit he s gay In all I enjoyed this book in the Heaven series I like the fact that Reese tries to deny over and over who he really is, because it gives truth to his reasons to love or not love Luc.

2.5 starsI thought Purgatory was boring I didn t really care for Luc or Reese I didn t think they had any chemistry, their feelings for each other didn t ring true, and I disliked how pushy Luc was This bothered me in Heaven and it bothered me in this book I was appalled that Luc would out Reese the way he did, even though Luc was doing it to help Reese This is not a series that I plan on continuing.

I ve read the first book of this series, Heaven, a few months ago and feasted upon the delicious rockstars with their lush hair and sensuous bodies of the band Heaven Each of the four band members has his own book in this series Purgatory is the second book and it s really good Luc and Reese, the heroes of this story are as lovely and hot as the main characters from the first book, Johnnie and Tyler Their story is entertaining, sexy and ravishing Funny thing with all the stories in this series so far is that there s a recurrent emphasis on the characters looks, especially their hair and body seize There s no way the author let us forget how long, curly or what color their hair is g What I love about this series is the return of the different members of the cast in each installment It s great to see how couples from the previous books are doing, to get glimpses of their HEA s And it s also nice to learn a little bit about characters whose love stories still have to be told in later books Because it s an interesting group of rockstars who each have their own character traits, quirks and preferences.

Obviously yaoi influencedWarning This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS Rating 6 10 PROS Dreamy premise I love the idea of a man who was rejected once upon a time being pursued by the one who turned him away Funny, realistic dialog and cute characters personality wise This is true of both stories.CONS Everything is from Reese s perspective This isn t really a bad thing, I guess lots of authors write stories in limited third person that explore only one character s thoughts and feelings But for some reason I ve never read a story that made me want so badly to hear both characters thoughts It s interesting to see how Reese thinks of himself and of Luc, but I really wanted to see what Luc thought of Reese also I found the ending just a little off Luc does something pretty awful to Reese in the name of Reese s best interest and then vanishes with nothing but a call me in the foreign country I m whisking away to And then when he returns and interrupts Reese s finally being put back together life , he flutters his eyelashes, they make up, and they live happily ever after The separation and Luc s actions that led up to it seriously bothered me.

Every time I read this book and I ve re read this book a lot I get an attack of Pretty Woman itis You know, that feeling you get when you just love something and the minute the glow of the experience wears off you think, WTF Was I really just enthralled by a movie where the heroine is too stupid to work her way out of prostituting herself on Hollywood Boulevard until she randomly snags the emotionally stunted billionaire with a heart of gold Am I not smarter than this Purgatory works the same way for me A lot of what happens in this book doesn t hold up to scrutiny in the light of day, but I can t seem to care The characters make me laugh and cry and sigh with unrequited love Our cinderfella Reese, isn t escaping a life of prostitution but something far worse a life of utter boredom and unfulfilled promise Our hero Luc is dashing, impulsive or a totally narcissistic unrepentant ass depending on how you look at it and the one and only love of Reese s life.I just can t help myself I love this book every single time I read it.
