This served as my disposable hot tub book I wish it had fallen in.There s not much to say about this book It was packed full of fluffy nothingness, the issues between the hero and heroine of the typical man hates commitment, woman wants picket fence and babies variety They come together through a case of mistaken identity, but once she discovers that he s Reo Sampson, rich guy, and not Brad the Mail Room Clerk, she shys away and of course he gives chase To add to the ho hum goings on, Reo s in the middle of a business deal with a husband wife team who has 2 kids that need babysitting while the deal gets hammered out, and the heroine called Rusty because of her hair is good with kids and wants to start her own rugrat party care business So the weekend at the beach on business is important to both, and they end up spending most of the time pawing each other, etc. There were a couple ham handed scenes with Reo s characterization The poor widdle rich boy with no siblings schtick was laid on a wee bit thick, especially during the scene of everybody playing a game of 21 Questions I guess for a short category rom like this, things need to be rushed along, subtlety be damned, but it simply didn t work This theme of family also provided the subplot of Reo s half brother and half sister, the product of his father s affair while Reo was still in the womb I know carping about contrivances is pointless when talking about Harlequins, but still..it didn t work for me And the characters weren t all that interesting.
